澤拓於1977年出生於日本石川，目前定居倫敦，2003年取得英國倫敦大學史烈德藝術學院美術碩士學位。澤拓雖主修雕塑，作品多半是影像裝置藝術，創作中經常以攝影或動畫錄像，將日常的寫實片段結合夢境般的畫面，創造出一種超現實的游離效果。澤拓自2003年起便陸續舉辦大小個展與群展，展出地點橫跨世界各地，包括英國、美國、墨西哥、法國、德國、義大利、澳洲、日本等等。重要作品如倫敦海沃德美術館所委託的《去一些地方坐下來》（2004）、於紐約詹姆斯•寇恩畫廊展出的《呢喃》（2006），以及2005年在策展人王嘉驥的邀請之下，於台北當代藝術館《仙那度變奏曲》展覽中所展出的兩件代表作品《居所》（2003）與《空中偵查員》（2002）等等。

Hiraki Sawa

Born in Ishikawa, Japan, 1977, Hiraki Sawa lives and works in London. In 2003 Hiraki received the MFA degree from Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. Though majoring in sculpture, Hiraki produces his works mainly as video installations with surreal effects by combining fragments of daily reality with dreamlike images. Since 2003, Hiraki has been exhibiting his works worldwide including UK, USA, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Australia and Japan. His major works include Going places sitting down, Hayward Gallery, London (2004), Murmuring, James Cohan Gallery, New York (2006), and two representatives Dwelling (2003) and Spotter (2002) featured in the exhibition “Variation Xanadu” in MOMA, Taipei, under the invitation of curator Chia Chi WANG.
