1958年生於台灣台北，先後畢業於師大美術系及巴黎第八大學造型藝術系。九O年代初自法返台後，便長期投身行動藝術創作。至今，湯皇珍已參與過無數場個展與群展，發表的行動作品共計四十餘件，包括《我愛你》、《原點種植》、《流亡與放逐》、《藝術休耕》、《黑盒子》、《咦？》、《臭河戀人》、《我特別的椅子》、《你說我聽》、《漂亮房間》、《我去旅行》系列等等，2005 年更以《我去旅行（Ⅴ）／一張風景明信片〈台灣篇〉》榮獲第四屆台新藝術獎。除展覽作品之外，湯皇珍亦致力於藝術生態之改造，曾於1997 年發起「爭取華山藝文特區」運動。此外，並曾參與《T—行劇動場》之編導演工作，以及牯嶺街小劇場、臨界點劇象錄及多媒體噪音劇場等劇場計畫。

Tang Huang-Chen

Born in Taipei, 1958, Tang Huang-Chen graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University, and later from the Department of Plastic Art, University Paris VIII. After returning to Taiwan in early 1990s, she has been involved in numerous exhibitions and performances, including the award-winning series I Go Traveling. Tang tends to position herself in the absurd instability of time and space as a way of impacting on the way people think. Though mainly defined as a performance artist, Tang also devotes herself in theatric works; she has cooperated with Guling St. Avant-Garde Theatre and Critical Point Theater Phenomenon, etc. Beside, as an active promoter of artistic environment, Tang has participated in the initiative of Huashan Culture Park, and has also written a variety of articles on art published in a range of newspapers and magazines.
